Bengaluru: A woman working for a private firm was injured after being hit by a buggy at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2.Diana (name changed), 38, from Indiranagar returned to Bengaluru on June 16 from Mangaluru with her family. When they were exiting the airport, a buggy hit her from the rear around midday. She fell down and injured her left leg, which was swollen, aside from suffering injuries to her face and teeth. Airport staff rushed her to a nearby hospital. Police have registered an FIR under BNS Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and issued a notice to the buggy driver. The driver told police the speed of the vehicle was a maximum of 20 kmph and the woman suddenly came in front of it when he was taking a turn. He said he couldn’t avoid the accident.A senior cop said the airport authorities apologised to the woman and paid her medical expenses. However, her husband insisted on filingf an FIR as her ligament is torn and she is yet to recover.
