At a private breakfast meeting, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister discussed party strategy, upcoming Assembly session, farmers’ issues and their joint commitment to the high command.
A private breakfast meeting between the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister at the DCM’s residence has drawn attention as both leaders discussed key political and administrative issues ahead of the Assembly session beginning on December 8. The meeting, which the CM said he was invited to attend, included detailed talks on the party’s strategy, opposition plans and ongoing farmer concerns.

According to discussions at the meeting, the government is preparing for an intense Assembly session as information suggests the opposition is readying an no-confidence move. The leaders reviewed speeches made by senior opposition figures and assessed how the ruling party will respond.
The CM highlighted ongoing efforts to address farmers’ issues, especially the rising demand for maize procurement at Minimum Support Price. Farmers, who cultivated maize in large quantities this season, are insisting on procurement at MSP fixed by the Centre. With production expected to touch 54-55 lakh metric tonnes, the state has planned to purchase 20 lakh metric tonnes to support growers. The CM also noted discussions held with farmer representatives, factory owners and others regarding maize, ethanol and pricing concerns.

The meeting also covered plans to convene MPs from the state, with discussions on raising state-related matters in Parliament. Both leaders are scheduled to travel to Delhi on December 8, where they intend to meet senior high command leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, depending on appointment availability.
Amid recent speculation about leadership differences, the CM and DCM emphasised unity. They stated that they follow the high command’s guidance and work together as “brothers,” repeating that their goal is to return to power in 2028 through collective effort. The CM added that similar discussions were held even the previous day, underscoring that coordination between the two remains strong.
The DCM also clarified that there has been no discussion so far on leadership change, affirming that both remain committed to the decisions made by the party’s national leadership.
