Having sung thousands of devotional songs with deep devotion and earned fame both in India and abroad, Sri Vidyabhushana has sung for a film the song “Adi Maha Shakti Mahamayiye…” written by Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer–director Sudheer Attavar. Prior to it Sri Vidybhushan sung for ‘Punyakoti’ for the first time and performed and sung recently ‘Dasara Dinachari’ a super hit film.
Sri Vidyabhushana, who has sung innumerable devotional compositions of great saints like Kanaka Dasa, Purandara Dasa, Tyagaraja, and many other sages and seers, expressed a sense of gratitude and fulfillment in lending his voice to this devotional lyric, said lyricist Sudheer.
The song speaks of “Mahamayi,” the daughter of Yashoda, who was beheaded by Kamsa in order to save Krishna, thus carrying the essence of protecting Lord Krishna. The lyrical audio of the song has now been released.
The film Pidai, directed by National Award–winning filmmaker Santosh Mada and produced by Ramesh Shettigar, features this song.
