The release of the Kannada pan-India film “45” has been delayed due to pending CG work, according to VFX technician Yash Gowda.
“45” is the first Kannada film for which Canada-based MARZ, a reputed VFX company, is handling the effects.
The film features Shivarajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B. Shetty in lead roles. It is directed by music director Arjun Janya in his debut and produced by M. Ramesh Reddy under the Suraj Productions banner. Since its launch, the project has drawn attention as one of the major releases.
A teaser released a few months ago had announced August 15 as the release date, which generated excitement among fans of the three actors. However, with extensive VFX work being carried out by Hollywood technicians and MARZ, the film could not meet the deadline. The makers have stated that this will be the first Kannada film with such a large-scale use of VFX.
Yash Gowda, head of MARZ, said the company has worked on over 500 Hollywood films in the past 15 years. He confirmed that the work on “45” is ongoing and explained that graphics form a crucial part of the film. He added that VFX tasks are taking more time than expected, resulting in the delay.
According to him, the VFX work will be completed by September 16, followed by additional tasks that will require about a month. The film is expected to be ready for release by October 16. The final release date will be announced by the producers.
