Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, one of India’s most notorious organised crime figures, has finally been deported from the United States. This marks a breakthrough for Indian investigation agencies, who have been tracking him across several countries for years.
Anmol Bishnoi, who has been wanted in multiple murder, extortion and terror-linked cases, is now on his way back to India. He is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday (19th November), according to officials.
US confirms deportation to the family of leader Baba Siddique
The confirmation came directly from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On Tuesday (18th November), DHS informed the family of former NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai in October 2024, that Anmol had been “removed” from American soil.
A screenshot shared with the family clearly stated: “This email is to inform you that ANMOL BISHNOI has been removed from the United States… The offender was removed on 18th November, 2025.”
Zeeshan Siddique, son of Baba Siddique and a former Congress MLA told PTI, that the family had registered as “victims of crime” in the US and had been receiving regular updates about Anmol’s case. “We were informed on 18th November by the US federal authorities that they have removed him from American land,” he said.

Zeeshan added that he now wants Mumbai Police to arrest and interrogate Anmol to understand his exact role in his father’s murder and in the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s house. “He is an Indian citizen and a threat to society. He should be brought back and questioned properly,” he said.
On the run since 2021, traced across several countries
Anmol Bishnoi, who hails from Punjab’s Fazilka district, fled India in 2021 using a forged passport. Investigators believe he moved across several countries before finally reaching the US. His route reportedly included Nepal, Dubai and Kenya.
He stayed mostly underground, but in April 2023, he was spotted at a public event in Bakersfield, California, a sighting that confirmed he was in the US. His arrest earlier this year set in motion the deportation process that has now concluded.
According to officials familiar with the case, Anmol was detained by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for travelling on a fake passport. He was held in Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa while the paperwork for his removal was completed.
Facing 18 criminal cases in India
Anmol is named in at least 18 criminal cases in India. The most serious includes the conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. He was also the key accused in the firing outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home in April 2024.
Investigating agencies have stated that Anmol also coordinated the Sidhu Moosewala murder plot from abroad. He is also accused of handling major extortion operations, issuing threats, and running parts of the Bishnoi crime syndicate through encrypted communication platforms.
The NIA has declared him “most wanted” and announced a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
Key player in the Bishnoi network, says NIA
Officials from the National Investigation Agency say that even while staying abroad, Anmol was a major part of the operations run by the Bishnoi gang. A senior NIA officer said that Anmol acted as Lawrence Bishnoi’s “main overseas handler,” helping the gang expand links with crime syndicates in West Asia, East Africa and North America.
His foreign location made it easier for him to coordinate with other gang members, arrange international logistics, and move money across borders. The officer added that Anmol’s deportation could reveal “vital information” about the gang’s international operations.
The NIA has also claimed that Anmol and gangster Goldy Brar, believed to be hiding somewhere in the US, raised money through drug trafficking, weapon smuggling and extortion. This money was allegedly used to plan the killings of businessmen, singers, religious leaders and other public figures.
Reacting to the deportation news, Anmol Bishnoi’s cousin, Ramesh Bishnoi, urged authorities to ensure Anmol’s security once he is brought back to India. He said, “The law will take its course. Our family respects the law and we are law-abiding people, but today our main concern is that if he is being brought to India, the Indian government should ensure his safety; this will be our demand. We have always respected the law and will continue to do so. He is being punished only for being Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother. The investigation will reveal everything…”

Investigators also believe that Anmol and Brar remained in regular contact with pro-Khalistan groups based in Canada, the US, Pakistan, Nepal and other countries.
Named in NIA chargesheet, also under ED scanner
Anmol has been named in an NIA chargesheet filed on 24th March 2023, which details the criminal activities of the Bishnoi syndicate and their links with Khalistani elements. The document says that from the US, he and another accused, Darmanjot Kahlon alias Darman Singh, managed the gang’s finances and logistical operations.
The Enforcement Directorate is also investigating the gang under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), given the vast amount of money reportedly moved through illegal channels.
