In the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, a 9-year-old girl was brutally beaten to death by a Muslim neighbour named Riyaz Khan, after he failed to rape her. When she screamed for help, he packed her into a sack and beat her brutally with a pestle until she fainted and later died.

This tragic incident took place in a village in Khachrod tehsil on Sunday, 14th December. The girl arrived at her grandmother’s house with her two older sisters since school had closed.
The grandmother and older sisters were sitting on the rooftop in the afternoon, while the girl was playing outside. When she didn’t come back after a long time, the grandmother sent her sister to find her, but she was missing. The whole family started searching everywhere.
Around 5:45 PM, the neighbour suddenly showed up carrying the unconscious girl from his house. He claimed she had fallen from the roof. Her face was swollen, with injuries on her head, nose, and eyes. Blood is coming out from everywhere.
The family rushed her to Khachrod hospital for first aid, but her condition was very critical, so they shifted her to Ratlam hospital, where she passed away during treatment on Monday, 15th December.
Khachrod SDOP Akanksha Bichote interviewed the doctors and confirmed that there are no signs of a fall on her body. Instead, it looked like she’d been hit repeatedly with a hard object. Police called the dog squad and forensic team to Riyaz’s house to collect evidence.
They interrogated Riyaz as he was the main suspect; under pressure, he confessed to everything. He said no one was home when the girl came into his place. Seeing her alone, he tried to assault her sexually. But she started screaming and thrashing around, so he got furious.
He stuffed her into a sack and beat her with the mogri, thinking she’d died. He even dragged her out of the house. Later, he came back, realised she was still breathing, so he carried her to her grandmother by narrating a fake story about her falling from the roof to cover his crime.
The public is demanding strict justice for the little girl. Police have arrested Riyaz Khan, and investigations are ongoing.
