Bengaluru: A large gulmohar tree collapsed in Jayanagar 9th Block, 4th Main, Sunday afternoon, injuring an auto driver and damaging his vehicle. The incident, triggered by strong winds, occurred when a massive branch fell directly on the parked auto.The driver, Manjunath, 52, a resident of Jayanagar, was seated inside at the time. He sustained only minor injuries and managed to escape without serious harm. BBMP officials arranged for his medical care and covered hospital charges. He was later discharged.While the auto suffered significant damage, BBMP is yet to confirm whether insurance claims can be processed. The tree was fully uprooted in the incident.
