Bengaluru is set to witness major traffic disruptions tomorrow (August 8) as Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi visits the city to address a political rally at Freedom Park. The rally, organised to protest against the Election Commission, is expected to draw thousands of Congress workers from across Karnataka.

Congress workers will be arriving in buses from various districts, with each assembly constituency reportedly sending around 50 participants. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar stated that nearly 5,000 to 6,000 workers are expected to attend the event.
Traffic Diversions and Parking Restrictions
Due to the large gathering, heavy congestion is expected between 10 am and 2:30 pm in and around Freedom Park, especially on Seshadri Road, K.R. Circle, Palace Road, and Majestic. The Bengaluru Traffic Police have advised motorists to avoid these areas and use alternate routes to prevent delays.
For Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Bengaluru, traffic restrictions have been implemented at key junctions including Maharani College Junction, Anand Rao Circle, and Palace Road. Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police Karthik Reddy stated that designated parking zones have been arranged at Palace Grounds for buses and heavy vehicles, Binni Mill and Kanteerava Stadium for Congress workers, and Gyanjyothi Auditorium for MLAs.
Airport Route Restrictions During Rahul Gandhi’s Arrival
Rahul Gandhi will arrive at HAL Airport tomorrow morning. Vehicle movement and parking will be restricted on Old Airport Road, M.G. Road, and Cubbon Road between 10:30 am–11:30 am and 3:30 pm–4:30 pm.
Political Developments Ahead of Rally
A day ahead of the rally, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in Delhi, alleging vote manipulation in Bengaluru Central constituency and criticizing the Election Commission. He is expected to make further statements on the issue during tomorrow’s address.
