The title motion poster of the film ‘Ruby’, marking the directorial debut of State Award-winning writer Raghu Kovi, was released in Bengaluru at M M B Legacy. Writer-director Chandrachud and the film’s cast and crew were present during the launch event.
Chandrachud, speaking at the event, said the story and the film’s team are prepared to take the project forward. He mentioned that a song from the film had been played earlier and noted the work of the music and lyrics department.
Actor Ram Gowda, who plays the lead role, stated that he liked the story when Raghu Kovi narrated it. He added that he is satisfied with his role and expressed that the production team has provided the necessary support for the film.

Director Raghu Kovi said that the film is supported by two producers and the story is presented as a love narrative driven by music, with guidance from music director R. P. Patnaik. He further mentioned that the film is based on a real incident that occurred in Hyderabad, contains five songs and has completed around 50 percent of its shooting.
Music director R. P. Patnaik noted that he is working with the film’s technical team and that the project is progressing with the planned structure.
Raghu Kovi, known in the industry through Hamsalekha’s mentorship, wrote the script for the film ‘Krishna Leela’, for which he received a State Award. He has previously worked with filmmakers S. V. Rajendra Singh Babu, M. S. Rajashekar, K. V. Raju, Shashank and Upendra as co-director before taking up direction independently for ‘Ruby’.
Ram Gowda, who made his lead debut in ‘Dilmarr’, stars as the protagonist in the film, while Vaibhavi Shandilya, known for ‘Martin’ and ‘Gaalipata 2’, is the female lead.
The technical crew comprises R. P. Patnaik as music director, Venkatesh Anguraj handling cinematography, Suresh Aars as the editor and Vikram Mor as stunt director.
‘Ruby’ is produced by Nikhil Desai under Evan Films, the banner which earlier produced ‘Oh My God 2’. The film is co-produced by Navisha Films headed by Shivaraj Kanaganapalli, marking the company’s debut in Kannada cinema.
