Mario and Luigi join Princess Peach and Toad on an adventure to the far reaches of space and across the galaxy where they face off against Bowser’s son, Bowser Jr., who is trying to save and free his father from being shrunken and imprisoned.
I was a big fan of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Despite its short and crammed runtime, I felt it was incredibly fun, beautifully animated, and the proper way to bring the characters of the Mario franchise to the big screen. With a confirmed sequel after its initial release, I was really hoping that it would continue the same type of energy, humor, and animation style. From this preview alone, it looks to be all of that. This new trailer showcases plenty of new footage from the upcoming movie, teasing old familiar faces from the first one as well as a new enemy and a new ally. Love the ending scene with Rosalina. Plus, showcasing several nods and winks from several of the Mario games (i.e. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Odyssey). Overall, I am very much excited to see where the sequel will take the Mario and friends to and how it will ultimately shape up to be.
