A horrifying case of harassment on a Hyderabad–Bengaluru sleeper bus ended dramatically when the teen survivor’s family intercepted the bus, thrashed the accused, and handed him over to police.
A late-night bus journey from Hyderabad to Bengaluru turned traumatic for a 15-year-old girl when she was allegedly harassed by a spare driver on a private Cross India sleeper bus.
According to police, the teenager had given her phone to the bus driver for charging. Later, when she asked for it back, the spare driver, identified as Arif, allegedly made obscene remarks, demanding a kiss in exchange for the phone. Reports say he even approached her berth and misbehaved with her, leaving the minor terrified.
The girl quickly called her mother and brother and informed them. When the bus neared Chalukya Circle in Bengaluru early morning, the family stopped the vehicle and confronted Arif.
