Having already acted as the lead in four films and appeared in several television serials, actor Arjun Yogi plays the hero in the film Varna, directed by Deva Sharma and produced by Mallineni Naveen Chowdhary. The producer’s son, Varshan Chowdhary, unveiled the teaser.
Director Deva Sharma said, “The line from the Bhagavad Gita — Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana — has been the inspiration for the story of this film. Initially, we planned to make it a short film, but when producer Mallineni Naveen Chowdhary heard the story, he said, ‘The story is good. Let’s not make a short film; let’s produce it on par with big films without any compromise.’ He stood by us like a pillar. Without him, this film would not have been possible. Arjun Yogi plays the lead role, Bhavya Gowda is the heroine, and Lankesh Ravan plays the villain. The movie features a large ensemble of many experienced artists. Ramesh Krishna is the music director, Gauri Venkatesh handles cinematography, Sujith Nayak is the editor, Chinnayya Master and Sagar Master are the stunt directors, and Height Manju and Geetha are the choreographers. The shooting of the film is almost complete, and post-production work is in full swing. Now the teaser has been unveiled. The songs and the trailer will be released soon. Director Deva Sharma working as HR manager in the company of producer Mallineni Naveen Chaudhary says this film has all ingredients of a commercial cinema. Writer of short stories and poems in his life Deva Sharma says firmly there are many whistle moments in this ‘Varna’.
“I am from Pavagada and a businessman in solar system. I liked the story narrated by the director and decided to take up the production. I have entrusted all responsibilities to director Deva Sharma. I only told him that the movie should come out well. Varna will definitely appeal to everyone,” said producer Mallineni Naveen Chowdhary. Producer with full confidence told the director that there are cheques on the table and write what you want for the production of the film.
“Ten years ago, Sanjeyalli Aralida Hoovu was my first movie as a hero. This is my fifth film. Director Deva Sharma narrated this story to me four years ago, but due to certain reasons, the project didn’t start then. The shooting began last November, and exactly after one year, our film has reached the release stage. The movie has all the elements that the audience expects. My character in the movie is named ‘Varna’ — a village boy who doesn’t tolerate mistakes and never spares those who commit them. It’s a story with a strong rural essence,” said lead actor Arjun Yogi.
Heroine Bhavya Gowda said she plays Suma an innocent village belle. For shooting of this film at the beginning of shoot I had romantic scenes and hero Arjun Yogi made me feel comfortable.
Ramesh Krishna working with leading music directors in his career of over 35 years says there are some very good songs via his department of music.
The only senior team member of this film is experiences cinematographer Gauri Venkatesh a very humble technician. He has nearly worked for nearly 80 films in Kannada cinema industry so far. There are four action and four songs in the film he said.
Lankesh Ravan, who appears as the villain, actresses Amrutha and Shivani, actors Pranaya Murthy and Mandya Siddu, choreographers Height Manju and Geetha, and stunt director Chinnayya also expressed happiness of the work for the film ‘Varna’.
