Actor Shashikumar returns to cinema after a long gap through Rudra Avatara, directed by Savad Mangaluru. In the film, Shashikumar plays a responsible father. The story and screenplay are written by Savad Mangaluru, who is also directing the project. The film is produced by Dandeli-based industrialist Dr Premanand V. Gavas under the banner of Premji Productions.
A motion poster introducing all major characters was released recently at a media event. The film’s shoot is scheduled to begin on November 24. Ahead of the schedule, the entire team met the press and shared details about the project. The two-minute motion poster introduces the cast and highlights that this is the 26th film featuring the pairing of Shashikumar and Tara.
Producer Dr Premanand said he is a businessman and that delivering a social message is his intention. He added that producing a film had been a long-time wish and that he wanted cinema to be a medium to convey a message. He stated that he liked the story narrated by the director and plans to make more films in the future. He will also appear in a powerful role in the film.

Director Savad Mangaluru said Rudra Avatara represents another form of Lord Shiva. The film addresses how middle-class parents fight to protect their children and how they take on a “Rudra” form when their children face difficulties. He added that parents set aside their own dreams to fulfil their children’s aspirations, and the story depicts how they fight without hesitation when their children are threatened. Three key characters appear in the “Rudra” form, with Shashikumar playing the main role. Filming begins on November 24.
Lead actor Shashikumar said the film is not centred on a hero–heroine format and that the content is the focus. He plays an auto driver and the father of a daughter, with Sangeetha portraying his wife. He mentioned that the film contains several emotional sequences and that he felt a strong reaction while hearing the first half of the story.
Actor Tara said every character in the film has a purpose within the story and that she is working with Shashikumar and Sangeetha after many years. Actors Sangeetha, Yash Shetty, Vardhan Thirthahalli, Ankita Jayaram and Sadhana spoke briefly about their roles. Shashikumar’s son Aditya was present and conveyed his wishes. Technical crew includes cinematography by Alan Bharat, music by Paul Alex, editing by Srikanth and production management by Satish Brahmavar.
