With a title like Salagaarara Sahakara Sangha, one naturally expects comedy—and that’s exactly what the team has delivered to tickle the audience’s funny bones.
At the hilarious song release event held on October 29, which also marked the fourth death anniversary of Karnataka Ratna Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, the team paid a heartfelt tribute through the emotional song Ayyo Shivane…. The moving number brought tears to the eyes of those in attendance.
After the emotional tribute, the event took a lighter turn with the launch of the funny track Eddelu Saalagara Elayya Belagayithu…, sung by noted actor Sharan with lyrics and music composed by M.S. Thyagaraj. The song perfectly captures the humorous mood of the upcoming film.
The story revolves around a common aspect of life—loans. Almost everyone has taken a loan at some point, and this film explores that universal experience in a comical yet thought-provoking way. In a small village, four young men take loans but struggle to repay them. Frustrated, they unite with others in similar situations and form the Salagaarara Sahakara Sangha (Borrowers’ Cooperative Society), demanding that the government waive off their debts.
Director Vikram Dhananjay, returning after Pantru and Geleya with his previous producers, drew inspiration for the script from real-life happenings. He highlights how loans taken for different reasons often lead people to desperation—some even choosing to flee their homes or end their lives. Through this film, Vikram emphasizes that such extreme steps are not the solution.
The movie was shot over 45 days in Shimogga, Thirthahalli, and Chikkamagaluru. For three additional songs, the director has roped in big names like Jogi Prem (top director), V. Harikrishna (renowned music director), and State Award-winning singer Naveen Sajju.
The film features Lokesh, Praveen, Jack Jaali, Kempegowda, Pooja, Rangayana Raghu, Honnavalli Krishna, Lakshmi Siddaiah, and others in the cast. Kumaresh, a civil contractor, and Sunil Kumar, a realtor, are the key producers of SSS. Noted actor Sharan also makes a special appearance.
Music director M.S. Thyagaraj shared a personal note, recalling his own struggles with loans:
“At one point in life, I was completely buried in debt. Answering lenders became my daily routine. It was my parents who stood by me and helped me recover. Truly, a father and mother are there for every occasion in life,” he reflected emotionally.
The film’s cinematography is handled by Anirudh, with Seshachala Kulkarni serving as the editor. Salagaarara Sahakara Sangha is currently in its final stages of post-production.
Adding to the fun at the song release event, several well-known comedy actors—Madenur Manu, Govinde Gowda, Divyasri, Shivaraj KR Pete, Sonu Srinivas Gowda, Sanath, Divya Gowda, and others—joined the celebration to wish the team success.
With its perfect mix of humor, heart, and social relevance, Salagaarara Sahakara Sangha promises to be a laughter-packed entertainer with a message for everyone who has ever faced the burden of a loan.
