Bengaluru’s Raj Bhavan will open its doors to visitors from August 16 to 18 as part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations. The public can explore select sections of the historic estate between 6 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. each day, with access subject to strict security measures.

Entry will be granted only upon presenting a valid government-issued photo identity card and completing security checks. Visitors will be restricted to designated areas and must comply with the directions of security staff. Maintaining silence and orderly conduct during the visit is mandatory.
Items you can’t carry during visit
To ensure safety, several items will not be permitted inside the premises. Prohibited articles include mobile phones, cameras, laptops, sharp objects, metal items, bags, purses, food, beverages, plastic materials, firecrackers, lighters, tobacco, and alcohol. Private vehicles will also not be allowed entry.
The visit will offer glimpses of notable attractions within the Governor’s residence, such as its landscaped avenues, ornamental fountain, and curated exhibits, while preserving the privacy and operational areas of the estate.
The Raj Bhavan, an iconic colonial-era building in the heart of Bengaluru, serves as the official residence of the Governor of Karnataka. The temporary opening provides residents and tourists an opportunity to appreciate its architectural and historical significance, while reinforcing the importance of discipline during public events at heritage sites.
