Speaking about their connection to the program, they shared, “We are originally from Bengaluru, having grown up drinking the waters of the Cauvery. Watching the historic Cauvery Aarti through media and social platforms left us deeply emotional. Though we live in America, it is the waters of the Cauvery that nourished us during our childhood.”
They also added, “Mother Cauvery has quenched the thirst of millions and sustained the lives of farmers. She is an inseparable part of life itself. The people of Karnataka can never forget Cauvery. By initiating this act of worship, the Government of Karnataka has set a remarkable example. On behalf of all Non-Resident Kannadigas, we extend our congratulations.”
The couple emphasized the broader significance of the Aarti. They believe that reverence for Mother Cauvery goes beyond the Dasara festival and should be observed year-round. Jyothi noted, “To bow before and worship Mother Cauvery is the foremost duty and responsibility of every individual. God is nature, and nature itself is Cauvery. Worshipping her will bring prosperity not only to humankind but to all living beings.”
They expressed their hope to personally participate in future ceremonies: “In the future, when we visit Karnataka, we will personally offer our prayers to Mother Cauvery.”
The Karnataka government’s Cauvery Aarti initiative has thus earned admiration both nationally and internationally, reinforcing the cultural and spiritual significance of the river in the lives of people.
