In a massive success in the ongoing campaign against Naxalism, senior Naxalite leader Ramdher Majji, who had a bounty of Rs 1 crore on him, has surrendered before the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bakarkatta on 8th December. Naxalite Ramdher Majji has been a Naxalite commander and member of the Central Committee of the banned outfit CPI(Maoist).
Ramdher Majji is reported to be a close associate of eliminated Naxalite terrorist Madvi Hidma. Majji’s surrender marks a decisive victory for the Modi government and security forces against left wing terrorism in the Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh or MMC Zone. The MMC Zone has now been declared Naxal-free.
In addition to Majji, 11 others, including women Naxalites have laid arms before the security forces.
Among those surrendered are Ramdher Majji (CCM), three divisional vice commanders (DVCMs) and other key members. A large cache of lethal weapons, including AK-47s, 30 Carbon, INSAS, .303, and SLRs, were recovered from the possession of the Naxalites.
Other than Ramdher Majji, Chandu Usendi, Lalita, Janki, Prem, Sukesh Pottam, Ram Singh Dada, Laxmi, Sagar, Sheila, Yogita and Kavita surrendered before the security forces.
Notably, on 7th December, ten dreaded Naxals, including four women surrendered front of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav in the Balaghat district. They handed over their weapons consisting of AK-47s, two INSAS rifles, two single-shot rifles, a self-loading rifle, 7-barrel grenade launcher (BGL) cells, 5 detonators, 4 walkie-talkie sets and more than 100 rounds of cartridges. The surrendered Naxalites collectively carried a bounty of Rs 2.36 crore.
