Director Arya Mahesh, known for ‘Kolara and English Manja’ Kannada films, teams up with actor Manoj for a new film titled ‘Garden’.
Arya Mahesh is known for bringing raw, real-life subjects to the screen with authenticity. This time, he’s tackling a unique storyline that hasn’t been explored before, and he has found the perfect actor to bring it to life—Takkar-fame Manoj.
Manoj, who played supporting roles in films like Ambareesh and Chakravarthy starring challenging star Darshan, made his debut as a lead with ‘Takkar’, a film centered on cybercrime. Currently, he is busy shooting for the big-budget movie ‘Dharani’, directed by Ananthu vs. Nusrat fame Sudheer Shanubhog. ‘Dharani’ is in its final stages of filming and explores a completely different world, including elements like cockfighting, rooted in local traditions.
Even before wrapping up ‘Dharani’, Manoj has signed on to ‘Garden’, a film with a distinct identity of its own. Set against the backdrop of Bengaluru’s local flavor, ‘Garden’ features a native storyline and dialect, different from his previous roles.
I like crafting stories that mirror what we see in front of us and building characters that reflect reality. I’ve always wanted to portray real, untold narratives through cinema. For this script, Manoj turned out to be the ideal choice. Producer G. Muniraju has shown immense trust and love by backing this project. I’m confident we’ll deliver a meaningful film,” said director Arya Mahesh.
‘Takkar’ had a cybercrime theme. ‘Dharani’ is rooted in rural life and traditional elements. In contrast, ‘Garden’ is a full-on Bengaluru local film—both in its story and language. I have complete faith in Arya Mahesh’s vision. As soon as I heard the script, I knew I had to be a part of this project. People will soon know how different and exciting this story and my role are,” shared actor Manoj.
‘Garden’ is being produced by G. Muniraju under the M.R. Cinemas banner. The film was officially announced with a simple script pooja held recently at the Sri Saibaba Temple. Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in September in and around Bengaluru.
