To Be Released Across Karnataka by Hombale Films
The Kannada film Bhakta Prahlada, starring Dr. Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, is considered one of the finest in Kannada cinema. To convey the story of Bhakta Prahlada and the Narasimha avatar to the next generation, a new animation film titled Mahavatar Narasimha has been made. The trailer of the film has already gained attention among film lovers. The film is set to release on July 25 in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages across the country. In Karnataka, the film will be presented and released by the reputed production house Hombale Films.
At a press conference held on Tuesday evening, director Ashwin Kumar said, “In 2018, a group of friends and I discussed Bhakta Prahlada. Following that, I read several films and Puranic texts, including the Kannada film Bhakta Prahlada, and developed the script for a film on Lord Narasimha. Our team has worked on Mahavatar Narasimha for five years. We used Bhakta Prahlada as the base for this film. Creating a fully animated film is not easy. We faced several technical challenges, but despite that, we completed the film over a span of four and a half years. As a continuation of this series, we are planning Mahavatar Parashurama.”
The film is produced by Ashwin Kumar’s wife, Shilpa Dhawan. She said, “We are releasing the film with the support of Hombale Films. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with them. This is our first production. We plan to make more films under our Clean Productions banner. The film has been made using advanced animation technology. It is not a dubbed film but a Kannada production.”
Speaking on behalf of Hombale Films, Adarsh said, “Our team watched the film and decided to present it. We are planning to release the film in over 100 theatres across the state.”
