In an unprecedented event that’s thrilling fans across two sporting worlds, football legend Lionel Messi will soon share the cricket field with Indian cricket giants at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. Scheduled for December 14, the event will witness a 7-a-side friendly cricket match between Messi and some of the biggest names in Indian cricket history, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

The event is being coordinated by an internation event management company that has approached the Mumbai Cricket Association to book the Wankhede Stadium.
Messi’s three-day visit to India from December 13 to 15 will also include appearances in Delhi and Kolkata, marking his second visit to the country after 2011. The Argentinian superstar had then played a friendly football match at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium.
