The highly anticipated film “Land Lord,” starring Duniya Vijay and Rachita Ram, is scheduled to release on January 23, 2026. On Kannada Rajyotsava, the teaser titled “The Survivor” was released. The film is directed by Jadesh K. Hampi and produced under the Sarathi Films banner.
The teaser launch event took place at Navarang Theatre. The film is produced by K.V. Sathyaprakash and Hemanth Gowda K.S., under Sarathi Films, and directed by Jadesh K. Hampi. The team officially announced the release date through the teaser. Duniya Vijay’s birthday falls on January 20, and the release during the same week has been welcomed by fans. After the teaser release, the team members addressed the gathering.
Actor Duniya Vijay expressed gratitude to director Jadesh K. Hampi for bringing a story with a strong message to the big screen, and to producers K.V. Sathyaprakash and K.S. Hemanth Gowda. He thanked his fans for supporting him during difficult times. He mentioned that he and Rachita Ram are from the same locality and have been friends from the beginning, and that sharing screen space with her and senior actor Umashree — who also plays a role in the film — was significant for him. He added that his daughter Ritanya is part of the cast, and several experienced artistes are involved in the project. Technical work is ongoing. The film is releasing on January 23, and he said the team hopes audiences will receive it well.
Rachita Ram said she was interested in the film immediately after hearing the storyline and felt she should take up the role. She also shared that she discussed the project with Darshan and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who responded positively to the story. She previously acted with Duniya Vijay in “Johnny Johnny Yes Papa.” Her character’s name in the film is Ningavva. She requested the audience to watch and support the film when it releases on January 23.
Director Jadesh K. Hampi said the story is set in the 1980s and is based on a local backdrop. Presenting a narrative set 45 years in the past posed challenges, but teamwork helped bring the story to life. He mentioned that he is a fan of Duniya Vijay’s performances, and when Rachita Ram arrived for scenes, her dialogues received strong response on set. He noted performances by Ritanya, Shishir, Rakesh Adiga, Achyuth Kumar, Mitra, and Abhishek Das. More than 50 theatre artistes are part of the film. Songs composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath are included, including one written by Yogaraj Bhat and performed on screen by Duniya Vijay and Rachita Ram, which will be released soon. He said production has proceeded without compromise and confirmed the film’s release on January 23.
Producer K.V. Sathyaprakash said “Land Lord” is the first film produced under their banner since “Sarathi,” which was released 14 years ago. He stated that the film will offer strong entertainment value to audiences and thanked the actors and technicians. Co-producer K.S. Hemanth Gowda added that the company will continue producing films in the future and requested continued support.
Senior actor Umashree said she is happy to act in the film and that her bond with Duniya Vijay extends beyond the screen. Ritanya, daughter of Duniya Vijay, said she is entering the film industry through this project and appears as Duniya Vijay’s daughter in the film as well.
Cast members Mitra, Shishir, Abhishek Das, cinematographer Swamy J. Gowda, dialogue writer Masti, Srikanth and others also shared their thoughts on the film. Representatives from the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and members of the film fraternity attended the event.
