The prestigious Lahari Music, which has served the music world for 50 years, now stands on the threshold of celebrating its Golden Jubilee.
With the firm belief that art knows no caste, religion, or language and that everyone is equal before the seven notes, Lahari and MRT Music have carried forward this principle unwaveringly.
For the past five decades, Lahari Music has nurtured music, literature, culture, and cinema of our land, while providing a platform to talented artists across the country, becoming the largest and most significant audio company in South India.
To celebrate this Golden Jubilee, Lahari has conceived yet another major initiative: “Lahari – MRT Music – Prayog Indian Classical Concert.”
In collaboration with Prayog Studio and Only Kannada OTT, the company is set to produce 10,000 songs over the next one year and present them to art lovers through the Lahari Music and MRT Music YouTube channels as well as the Only Kannada OTT platform.
Through this program, talents will be discovered not only from cities and towns but also from remote rural areas and deep forests, offering a platform to every gifted artist.
A unique stage has been created to identify the extraordinary talent hidden within ordinary individuals, bringing them forth from every corner of the nation and unveiling their art.
This initiative preserves and promotes India’s rich cultural heritage—classical music, literature, light music, devotional songs, folk songs, classical dance, folk dance, Harikatha, Yakshagana, theatre, short films—and all such traditional art forms, while encouraging the next generation.
Already, in collaboration with Prayog Studio last month, more than 1,500 classical and devotional songs have been recorded, and over 200 new talented artists have been identified and given a platform.
Several senior artists of national and international repute have extended their support to this initiative and have come forward to mentor young talents.
“Through this great program, many artists, technicians, writers, and music directors will come to light,” said Lahari Velu, director of Lahari Music and MRT Music.
