The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, is formulating a long-term roadmap to integrate quantum technology into Karnataka’s development plans. Bengaluru, already recognized as a hub for innovation across IT, aerospace, and biotechnology, will serve as the launchpad for this ambitious initiative.
During a preparatory meeting at Vikasa Soudha, discussions highlighted the state’s focus on developing infrastructure and promoting collaboration in quantum computing and related fields. The summit is expected to foster high-level engagement between Nobel Laureates and key government officials, including principal secretaries from the Industries, IT & BT, and Higher Education departments.
The agenda includes shaping policy frameworks, boosting research capabilities, and establishing international partnerships to accelerate Karnataka’s quantum journey. Key figures such as Sadashiva Prabhu, Managing Director of the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS), and Prof. Akshay Naik from the Indian Institute of Science, who co-chairs the summit, are closely involved in the planning.
The Quantum India Bengaluru Summit is being positioned as a defining moment in Karnataka’s push to lead India’s deep-tech transformation and solidify its status on the global quantum map.
