The shooting of the film Jodettu will begin with the start of the new year. The film marks the directorial debut of Sudhakar.
Jodettu, which stars Chikkanna in the lead role, was recently launched. The film team is now preparing to begin filming from January 5. As the makers aim to present the film against a rural backdrop, an entire village set is being constructed for the project. A large set has been erected in Chikkamagaluru for this purpose.
The film is produced by Somashekhar (Kattigenahalli) and is being made on a pan-India scale. It is the third film produced under the Akash Enterprises banner. Along with Chikkanna, Telugu actor Sunil will be seen in an important role. Several other actors are also part of the cast, and official details regarding the remaining artistes will be announced soon.
Sudhakar S Raj, who has previously worked as a cinematographer on films such as Adhyaksha, Robert, Katera and the recently released The Devil, will be making his directorial debut with Jodettu. He will also handle the cinematography for the film.
Music for the film will be composed by V. Harikrishna, who will be providing five songs. Dialogues are being written by Masti, Rajashekar and Raghu Niduvalli. Art direction is handled by Mohan B Kere. If production proceeds as planned, the film is expected to release in 2026.
Speaking about the film, Chikkanna stated that the story is set in the 1980s. He added that the identity of the real “Jodettu” will be revealed at a later stage. He also mentioned that the film begins and ends in a village and includes elements of family sentiment, comedy and action.
