According to the FIR filed at Tilak Nagar Police Station, a 19 year old BCA student accused HOD Sanjeev of inviting her to his residence under the pretext of helping her with studies, where he allegedly attempted to force her into sexual activity. Following her compliant, the police have registered an FIR and launched a manhunt, as the accused is currently absconding.
In their appeal to NewsFirst, students alleged that despite the severity of the complaint, the college management has failed to take concrete legal action, stating that the accused was merely suspended and that the case appears to be suppressed internally.
They further claimed that students who attempted to stage a peaceful protest demanding justice were denied permission and threatened with disciplinary action which they described as an attempt to silence their voices and protect the accused, instead of ensuring justice for the survivor and safety on campus.
The students have expressed deep concern that the institution is shielding the accused instead of supporting the survivor. They have urged NewsFirst to expose how the institution is shielding the accused instead of pursuing justice, and to highlight their demand for an impartial investigation and legal accountability. They also emphasized that their appeal seeks to uphold both the victim’s right to justice and the students’ right to protest peacefully.
