India produced a clinical all-round performance to thrash Pakistan by 88 runs in a crucial ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. With the victory, India extended their perfect record against Pakistan to 12-0 and secured their second successive win of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
Chasing a challenging total of 248 runs for victory, Sidra Amin played a fine knock of 81 runs. However, Sidra didn’t get enough support from the other end as Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 159 in 43 overs. With this, Pakistan slumped to their second consecutive defeat.
For India, Kranti Goud (3/20) and Deepti Sharma (3/45) claimed three wickets apiece, while Shree Charani (2/38) also made key contributions with the ball.
Earlier, Harleen Deol’s composed knock of 46 and Richa Ghosh’s brisk unbeaten 35 helped India post 247 in 50 overs after being invited to bat first.
