The Nuh police in Haryana have arrested a lawyer for spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI. On Wednesday (26th November), officials said the arrest was made after a central investigative agency shared specific input. This is the third time this year that a suspected Pakistani spy has been caught in the Mewat region of Haryana.
The arrested advocate has been identified as Rizwan, a resident of Kharkhadi village in Nuh, Haryana. He is practising at the Gurugram court. The police said that Rizwan was picked up two days ago, and as the investigation into the case progressed, he was formally arrested. Another lawyer Musharraf has been detained, and the officers are checking if he had any role in the case.
Investigation officers say that Rizwan was in contact with ISI handlers in Pakistan and received crores of rupees in India through hawala channels. They suspect that this money was used to support terrorist activities, espionage, and drug smuggling. Police also said they found several large transactions in Rizwan’s Punjab National Bank account at the Tauru branch, and that he frequently travelled to Punjab. These details are now being closely examined.

Police have secured eight days of remand for both accused and are working to trace the source and destination of the money trail. Officials said investigators are also trying to recover Rs 40 lakh, which they believe is connected to the alleged espionage activity. Both men will be produced in court on 4th December.
A senior police officer confirmed the arrest and said an FIR has been registered under Section 113 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 17 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at Tauru Sadar police station. Police have also initiated the process of freezing the lawyer’s bank accounts. Raids are being conducted at several places, and a technical investigation is being carried out to track the entire network involved.
In May, police arrested Mohammad Tarif, a resident of Kangarka village in the Tauru area, for sharing sensitive military information with Pakistani handlers and supplying Indian SIM cards to agents at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. Arman, a resident of Rajaka village, was also arrested in May for spying for Pakistan.
