Passenger shift from the Yellow Line to Green Line’s RV Road Station may cause heavy crowding; MP Tejasvi Surya urges Platform Door Systems for safety.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has raised concerns over potential overcrowding at RV Road Metro station following the recent launch of the Yellow Line. With only three Yellow Line trains currently operating at half-hour intervals, passenger numbers are expected to surge, especially during peak hours.

Surya highlighted that many Yellow Line commuters will interchange at RV Road to board Green Line trains, creating a bottleneck at the station, especially during peak hours. This, he warned, could result in congestion and safety risks.
To address the issue, the MP has written to BMRCL Managing Director, urging the immediate installation of a Platform Door System (PDS) at RV Road station. According to Surya, PDS would enhance passenger safety by preventing accidents at crowded platforms.
He stressed that preemptive safety measures are crucial to manage increased footfall and avoid possible mishaps.
