In his address, Governor Gehlot invoked the vision of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, founder of the city, noting that Bengaluru is more than just an IT and innovation hub, it is also a city powered by unsung heroes who nurture education, protect the environment, and uphold social harmony. He described the theme “My City, My Hero” as an inspiration that underlines Bengaluru’s collective resolve to remain clean, green, safe, and inclusive.
The Governor also reminded citizens of the pressing challenges, urban sprawl, traffic snarls, water shortages, waste management hurdles, and rising pollution, that demand sustainable solutions. He said achievers like the awardees are proof that individuals can ignite meaningful change, urging all Bengalureans to play their part in safeguarding the city’s identity as the “Garden City” alongside being an IT powerhouse.
The evening ended with applause, inspiration, and the reminder that while Bengaluru’s skyline may be dotted with tech parks and flyovers, its true strength lies in the everyday heroes who quietly light the path of progress.
