Actress Geetapriya Suresh Kumar, who previously appeared in the film Taayavva, is set to return to the silver screen with a new movie titled Aparichite. The title poster of the film was recently unveiled by former Deputy Chief Minister and current MLA Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan.
Dr Ashwath Narayan expressed his support for socially conscious cinema, stating, “Cinema is a powerful medium. More films with strong social messages should be made — this will benefit both the audience and the industry.”
Actress Geetapriya, who plays a lead role in the film, shared her enthusiasm: “I enjoy acting in films that carry a social message. Aparichite is one such film. I play the role of a teacher in this story, which is based on true events. Shooting begins tomorrow, and the entire production will take place in Karnataka.”
The film is directed by Vishwanath, who previously directed ‘Hanumanthappana Eradu Ekare Jaaga’, a film that is ready for release. At the event, director Vishwanath stated, “Aparichite is a thriller inspired by real-life incidents. The cast includes Sindhu Lokanath, R.J. Nikhita, veteran actor Srinath, and his son Rohit, all in prominent roles. We plan to begin filming tomorrow and aim to release the film by October.”
Suresh Kumar, husband of Geetapriya and the film’s producer, said, “I’m happy that my wife is working on films with a strong social message. After watching her debut film, I felt inspired, which is why we decided to produce Aparichite under the Amar Films banner.”
Veteran actor Srinath, who was also present at the event, shared his excitement: “This is my first film since the pandemic. I’m glad to be part of a project that delivers a meaningful message to society. What’s more special is that after 40 years, I’m acting alongside my son in the same film — that gives me immense joy.”
Dr Srinath Pranaya Raja of Kannada cinema son Rohit expressed his happiness: “I’m stepping into acting at the age of 35, and to be sharing screen space with my father in my debut film is a special moment. The character I play is very interesting.”
Actress R.J. Nikhita, another key member of the cast, also spoke briefly about her role during the event.
