Indian Railways will operate a record 380 Ganpati Special trains during Ganesh Chaturthi 2025.
This marks the highest number of special services ever deployed for the festival, reflecting a steady rise in passenger demand across Maharashtra and the Konkan region.
The Central Railway zone will run the lion’s share with 296 trips, followed by Western Railway (56), South Western Railway (22), and Konkan Railway (6). These trains will serve key halts across the Konkan belt, including Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Kankavali, Sawantwadi Road, and Madgaon Junction, ensuring devotees can travel smoothly to their hometowns and pilgrimage sites.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will span from August 27 to September 6, but services began as early as August 11 to accommodate early travellers. Full schedules are available on the IRCTC website and RailOne app, with ticketing also open via PRS counters.
Indian Railways has assured passengers of safe, reliable, and convenient travel, reinforcing its commitment to cultural connectivity and public service during peak festive seasons.
