A 12-day free medical mission by Adichunchanagiri Hospital, Rotaplast International and Rotary Bangalore North transforms lives of children with cleft lip, cleft palate and burn deformities.
Many parents who once felt helpless because their children suffered from cleft lip, cleft palate or severe burn deformities finally found relief through Sankalpa 2025, a large-scale free plastic surgery camp. The initiative was organised at Adichunchanagiri Hospital in B.G. Nagar, Mandya district, in partnership with Rotaplast International (USA) and Rotary Bangalore North.
Held from November 30 to December 11, the camp provided completely free surgeries for cleft lip, cleft palate, burn contractures, birth deformities and other reconstructive procedures. Patients and their families were given full accommodation and care throughout the treatment period. The mission turned out to be a lifesaver for many economically disadvantaged families across rural Karnataka.
The ceremony at the Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was blessed by Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, who said the initiative reflects the vision of Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji to serve underserved rural communities. He expressed joy that the combined efforts of Rotaplast and the hospital continue to restore confidence and smiles among children and parents.

NewsFirst MD & CEO S. Ravi Kumar, who attended as the chief guest, recalled an emotional incident when Kannada icon Dr. Rajkumar had approached Balagangadharanatha Swamiji seeking help for his grandson’s cleft lip surgery. This moment, he said, inspired the launch of such medical camps, a noble mission that Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji has carried forward with commitment.
He noted that completing 1,200 surgeries in 11 years is a remarkable achievement and said parents are now relieved knowing their children can grow, eat and live like other children.
