The Bengaluru police Monday said they have booked former Uttar Pradesh MLA Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit for allegedly sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman.
The police have registered a case under Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to a complaint filed by the woman, the assault took place at a hotel near the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
The woman said she, along with her minor son, travelled from Uttar Pradesh to Bengaluru on August 14 at the former MLA’s insistence. On the same day, he allegedly took them to several places in the city.
On August 16, Sharma took them to Chitradurga, and the following day, arranged a room at a hotel near KIA. Inside the hotel room, the ex-MLA allegedly forced the victim into having a sexual relationship against her will and threatened to kill her when she resisted.
