Actor Devaraj will be seen in a lead role in the upcoming Kannada film Chandragiri, directed by Rajeev Krishna. The film is presented by Shilpashree Pictures and produced by Shilpa Srinivas under the Snehalayam Creations banner. Chandragiri marks Rajeev Krishna’s next directorial venture after Mugila Mallige, which is currently ready for release. For Chandragiri, Rajeev Krishna has handled the story, screenplay and dialogues in addition to direction.
Devaraj, who is referred to as the Dynamic Hero, returns as a lead actor after a considerable gap with this project. The dubbing work for the songs of Chandragiri has recently been completed. Three songs in the film have been sung by Aniruddha Shastri, Karunya and Srikrishna.
The film’s storyline revolves around a conflict between divine forces and spirits. The narrative includes the recurring appearance of two dead bodies on every Amavasya day and bloodstains found across the streets of Chandragiri village. The mystery surrounding how the two individuals died forms a key part of the plot. The story further explores an invisible force encountered by those attempting to uncover the truth, and how this force suppresses evil elements that prepare spirits to destroy the divine presence.
Chandragiri falls under the horror, suspense and thriller genres. The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin from January 8 in and around Chikkaballapur, Bellikere and Hoskote.
The cast includes Baahubali-fame Kalakeya Prabhakar, Shobaraj, Priya, Dhanya, Bhoomikashree, Mariswamy, Panchaksharayya, Bengaluru Manu, Kishore Kasaragodu, Manjunath Sarot and others. Casting for the remaining roles is currently underway.
The technical crew includes Pramod Bharatiy as cinematographer, M. L. Raja as music composer, R. K. Gandhi as lyricist, Vinay G. Alur as editor, Mohan Kumar handling makeup, Mallikarjun as art director and Maruthi as stunt coordinator.
