Calling it an “historic day for Bengaluru,” Shivakumar said the GBA has been set up to ensure that governance truly serves the people. “Chief Minister has already directed us on this. Today, we unveiled the board, and soon the CM himself will chair a meeting,” he added.
Unveiling his vision, the Deputy CM announced:
• Recruitment of 500 new engineers to strengthen civic infrastructure.
• Allocation of ₹300 crore for new developmental works, including sanitation and road maintenance.
• Responsibility assigned to five corporation commissioners to manage development in their respective zones.
