The petition for transfer was filed by jail authorities, citing administrative reasons. However, Darshan’s legal team opposed the move, arguing against relocating the group to Bellary, known for its harsh summer climate. The court accepted the argument and dismissed the transfer plea.
At the same time, the court upheld another request, directing that Darshan be provided only the minimum facilities guaranteed under the jail manual. These include provisions for basic amenities and permission to walk within the jail premises. The court made it clear that no special or VIP treatment should be extended to the actor or his associates.

The order also empowers the IG of Prisons to initiate transfer if there is any misuse of facilities or preferential treatment in Parappana Agrahara. For now, the actor remains in Bengaluru, escaping the scorching summer conditions of Bellary.
Earlier in the day, the proceedings took an unexpected turn. Appearing via video conference in a black T-shirt with his hands tied behind his back, Darshan shocked everyone by pleading for permission to be given poison, stating that life had become unbearable. The judge firmly rejected the request, remarking that such pleas cannot be entertained. However, the court directed the jail superintendent to take steps to improve living conditions for the accused.
