A woman poisoned her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and attempted suicide at their house in Bengaluru early on Wednesday, allegedly due to financial crisis and frequent disputes with her husband, the police said.
According to the police, Chandrika, 24, fed poison to her daughter and attempted suicide at their house in Thigalarapalya when her husband, Lokesh, a casual labourer, was not at home.
The police said that Lokesh discovered his wife and daughter lying unconscious when he returned home and shifted them to a nearby hospital. The doctors said that the child was brought dead, while Chandrika is presently under treatment.
