BENGALURU: A 31-year-old television serial actor Manjula, popularly known as Shruthi, was stabbed multiple times by her husband in their Hanumanthanagar residence. The incident occurred between 11.30am and 12pm on July 4.Manjula sustained injuries to her shoulder, thigh, and neck, and was treated at Victoria Hospital. She has been discharged.The accused, Amaresh HS (49), has been arrested on charges of attempted murder. The couple, married for 20 years, reportedly had a turbulent relationship for over 15 years, marked by frequent fights and abuse. Manjula had previously filed a complaint against Amaresh in April and had moved out to stay with her brother. According to her statement, Amaresh had recently reconciled with her, promising that he’s a changed man. On the day of the incident, when their daughters had left for college, he allegedly attacked her with pepper spray and a knife. Neighbours rushed to her aid after hearing her screams and caught Amaresh at the scene.
