BENGALURU: The Regional Transport Authority Monday announced a revision in autorickshaw fares, increasing the base fare from Rs 30 to Rs 36 for the first 2km and the per-kilometre fare from Rs 15 to Rs 18 thereafter. The new fares will come into effect from August 1, 2025.Auto drivers are allowed to charge 1.5 times the fare for trips between 10pm and 5am. They have 90 days to recalibrate their digital meters. Until then, they must display the revised fare chart. Under the revised fare structure, there will be no waiting charge for the first five minutes. After that, a charge of Rs 10 will be levied for every five minutes of waiting. Passengers can carry luggage weighing up to 20kg free of cost. For luggage weighing above 20kg up to 50kg, an additional charge of Rs 30 may be applied. The revised fares are applicable within BBMP limits and Bengaluru Urban district.
