Kantara: Chapter 1, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, has received strong response from audiences and is performing well at the box office. The film features Ayra Krishna from Bhatkal as the young queen, the wife of King Kulasekhara. Her role in the film has drawn attention and has led to new opportunities in the Kannada film industry.
Ayra Krishna is originally from Moodabhatkal. In 2016, she participated in the Top Model Hunt competition in Bengaluru, contesting alongside actress Rashmika Mandanna, and secured the second position. She also reached the final list of Miss Universe India. Following that, she acted in several short films, which paved the way for further opportunities. With the success of Kantara 1, her journey in the industry has expanded further.
Ayra Krishna was selected for Kantara: Chapter 1 through the screen test conducted by Hombale Films. She expressed that more offers have been coming to her from the Kannada film industry after the success of the film.
Ayra has already acted in Kannada and Tamil cinema. In Kannada, she has appeared in Nanna Prakara, Kannada Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage and Nodidavaru Enanthare. In Tamil, she has played the lead actress in Studio Green Rebel and Niram Marum Ulagil. She is also awaiting the release of another Tamil film titled Poor Windows.
Apart from films, Ayra Krishna has worked in advertisements for brands including Tally, AVT Tea, Amul India, Himalaya and Peter England.
