SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva used his speech at the United Nations General-Assembly to criticize the unilateral moves by his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump. He will leave with a pledge to discuss tariffs with the American leader — and a political win against his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro, who used to gloat about his access to the White House.Lula and Trump have been at odds since July, when the U.S. leader imposed a 50% tariff on many Brazilian exports citing alleged persecution against Bolsonaro, who was recently sentenced to 27 years in prison. But a…

The agency added large-scale studies had been carried out for decades, and no consistent association was found. Add Zee News as a Preferred Source It urged women to trust doctors. “WHO recommends that all women continue to follow advice of their…
Stephane Cardinale – Corbis/Getty Images If you have a favorite director, you can expect that your favorite director probably has a favorite director too. Enter Quentin Tarantino, who didn’t come right out and say that his fellow Oscar winner Christopher Nolan is his favorite director, per se, but he had some serious praise for the British director’s 2017 film “Dunkirk.” The movie, which centers around the evacuation of Allied forces in World War II, utilizes little dialogue and relies on atmosphere and action as the soldiers depicted travel by plane, land,…
Tristar Media/Getty Images Liam Neeson just scored a modestly-sized hit with “The Naked Gun” reboot over the summer, and it looks like audiences are starting to discover another of his much more serious action epics. “Ice Road: Vengeance” went direct to streaming in 2025, and it’s climbed Netflix’s top 10 for September 24, topping out in fourth place, which is very impressive for a film with no buzz. “Ice Road: Vengeance” takes the mostly-not-staged “Ice Road Truckers” and throws in a little bit of “Taken.” A sequel to “The Ice Road,” it…
Washington: Health authorities in the United States are raising alarms over a sharp increase in infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria, often referred to as “nightmare bacteria”. A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that infections by these dangerous bacteria rose by almost 70 percent between 2019 and 2023. Researchers attribute the surge to bacteria carrying the New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM) gene. Once considered exotic and mostly found in a few patients outside the United States, these bacteria are now appearing with increasing frequency across the country. The presence of the NDM gene can render…
Neon Body horror is a unique sub-genre featuring stories that see human bodies hideously deformed and mutilated. Most often, the grotesque elements serve as an allegory for a deeper theme, and this is true for the 2025 film “Together.” A new body horror classic starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie, “Together” uses body horror to explore the complicated nature of emotional intimacy. “Together” revolves around Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie), a couple who’ve been together for 10 years but are struggling with their relationship. When Tim accepts a new…

The Karnataka High Court last week set aside a 2020 circular of the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (KRERA) that had the effect of imposing a “delay fee” when there were belated submission of quarterly updates and annual audit statements by promoters. A single-judge bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna held on September 19 that the fee was “without distinction to the scale of the project, the stage of development, or the peculiar circumstances surrounding it”. Several petitions had been filed against the circular. The bench noted that having taken the submissions into account, the issue was whether the action was…
