After a remarkable showing on the England tour, the BCCI reportedly plans to reward Shubman Gill with the T20I vice-captaincy for the upcoming Asia Cup. Previously, Axar Patel served as vice-captain during the T20I series against England, but Gill’s impressive resurgence has convinced the board to include him in the leadership group, according to a RevSportz report. The same report states that BCCI no longer views Rohit Sharma as the long-term ODI captain and sees Gill leading India at the next ODI World Cup in South Africa. Following a triumphant stint as India’s Test skipper in England, Shubman Gill is…

A new study published in the Journal of Comparative Psychology has documented something extraordinary in the animal kingdom: wild killer whales repeatedly offering food to humans. Over a 20-year span, researchers recorded 34 verified cases from California to New Zealand, Norway, and Patagonia, where orcas approached people with fish, rays, or squid, sometimes making multiple attempts after an initial refusal. The findings, led by Jared Towers of Bay Cetology in Canada alongside Ingrid Visser of the Orca Research Trust in New Zealand and Vanessa Prigollini of the Marine Education Association in Mexico, are raising new questions about cross-species interaction. Former BCCI selection committee chairman and 1983 World Cup winner Sandip Patil has come down heavily on the current selection regime for their handling of Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management during India’s recently concluded tour of England, dismissing the idea as “nonsense.” Bumrah, India’s pace spearhead, played three out of the five Tests in the series as per the advice of team doctors who wanted to manage his bowling workload. India won both matches in which Bumrah was absent, but his non-participation including missing the final Test due to a niggle did raise questions. When Chief Minister M K Stalin unveiled the “Tamil Nadu State Education Policy – School Education, 2025” on August 8, it was not just another policy announcement. Universal Pictures For his second major headlining role as Hollywood’s newest comedy star, following “Billy Madison,” Adam Sandler chipped “Happy Gilmore” into theaters in 1996. Sandler plays the title character, a failed hockey player who reluctantly finds himself power driving his way through golf in order to pay his grandma’s tax debt and save her home. Along the way, his boisterous attitude and fiery temper not only clash with golf’s conservative culture, but with current top pro Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald), who doesn’t like sharing the spotlight. It has all…
