Getting clones taken down can be an exhausting process for developers. Small studios have less time, energy and resources to dedicate to this process, and they’re at the whims of the digital distribution platforms these games exist on.Wren Brier, Unpacking’s creative director, says that since the game’s release in 2021, developer Witch Beam has reported over 80 clones. “It feels like whack-a-mole sometimes,” Brier says. These are games that are not just similar in nature, but “blatant copyright infringements” that lift the game’s assets, or even its name. “The majority have been extremely low-effort scams using Unpacking’s name or imagery…

The restoration comes as part of iOS 18.6.1 and watchOS 11.6.1 software updates — and includes a workaround that shows the data on an iPhone rather than the Apple Watch blood oxygen app itself. “Following…

Earlier this week, Trump said he would allow the company to continue selling its H20 chips to China in exchange for a 15 percent share of the revenues.“The H20 is obsolete. You know, it’s one of those things, but it still has a market,” Trump said at a press conference on Monday. “So we negotiated a little deal.”The unusual and legally dubious arrangement is a striking reversal for the Trump administration, which banned all H20 sales to China earlier this year. The president reportedly changed his mind…

War or not, the Biden administration was placing a high-stakes bet that the United States could use its leverage to hold China back, and that the losses in terms of foregone US exports to China and collateral damage to bilateral ties would be worth it. On one hand, it was a gamble that relied on ideas established in Washington decades ago. US policymakers had been using tech restrictions to stymie China’s military modernization and punish the country for human rights abuses since the Cold War. More recent advancements in missiles and surveillance technology reinforced that logic. But several people who…
Southern Europe is sweltering under life-threatening heat that has fueled deadly wildfires and forced thousands of people to evacuate this week.Forecasters warned that temperatures in some places would surpass 44 degrees Celsius (111.2 degrees Fahrenheit) on Thursday. The dangerous heat is the result of a large high-pressure system drawing in warm, dry air over the Continent, and it could last through at least Monday in some places.
