Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar said on Tuesday that over 13,000 potholes had been filled across the state capital, with photographic and video evidence maintained for each repair. Shivakumar also announced a comprehensive plan worth Rs 1,100 crore drawn up to upgrade 550 km of major roads in Bengaluru. The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday declined to vacate its stay on a rule capping the price of movie tickets at Rs 200 while also ordering accounts of the ticket sales across payment methods to be maintained till the matter is adjudicated. The massive floods along the banks of the Bhima river have resulted in crop losses in an area exceeding 10 lakh hectares, and 10,576 people from 117 villages of Kalaburagi, Yadgir, and Vijayapura districts were shifted to 80 relief centres set up by the Government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday after conducting an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions and meeting officials.
