The study released Tuesday found that unprecedented heatwaves in 2023 caused an estimated 178,486 excess deaths worldwide, equivalent to 23 deaths per million, with more than half attributable to manmade climate change. Philippine inflation quickens to 1.7 pc in September Manila, Oct 7 (IANS) The Philippines’ year-on-year headline inflation quickened to 1.7 per cent in September from 1.5 per cent in August, due to higher transport and food costs, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Tuesday.
