Eight people were injured after clashes broke out in Maddur town in Karnataka’s Mandya district Sunday night when two groups allegedly resorted to stone pelting during a Ganesha idol immersion procession. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) and Cubbon Park police in Bengaluru conducted a raid early Sunday morning at J W Marriott Hotel on Vittal Mallya Road, allegedly following information that it was operating beyond permitted hours.
