A fresh team of youngsters is all set to make a mark on the silver screen with a unique film titled “Austin Na Mahanmouna”. The teaser and songs from the film were launched at SRV Preview Theater in Malleswaram.
The film is written, directed, produced, and acted by Vinay Kumar Vaidyanathan, a promising talent. After completing my degree in Electrical Engineering, I was drawn to the world of cinema. I worked in various departments as an assistant director, including on a Puneeth Rajkumar film. Later, I directed a few short films, gaining solid experience in the technical aspects of filmmaking. After 13 years of dreaming, this project is finally becoming a reality. I’ve acted, directed, and produced this film myself. The title ‘Austin na Mahanmouna’ fits perfectly with the story. It’s not about caste or religion—it’s purely an emotional, love and thriller-based narrative. Austin is the name of the lead character, and I play a dual-shade role (Calm and Harsh). Why and how? You’ll know when you watch the film. Of course the lead actor will be ‘Mouni’ in the second half.
All characters in the film belong to the Christian community, and the story is set in the 1990s, revolving around a coastal family. We began this project in 2023, and shot for 23 days across Mysuru, Honnavar, and Chikkamagaluru. The trailer will be out soon. The film will release on September 5 across Karnataka through K.R.G. Films. This film is the result of years of effort, and I hope you all support us with love.”
I’m from Mysuru and come from a theatre background. This is my third film. Often, heroines are cast only in glamorous roles, but here the director has given me a meaningful role as a homely girl. I agreed to the project after being impressed by the content. The film has turned out beautifully. Please encourage and support us mentioned Risha Gowda who is in Jasmine role.
Another lead actress Prakruthi Prasad (Lisha Fernandes in the film), also from Mysuru, said, “I’ve previously acted in serials, and this is my debut film. I play a doctor in the movie. It’s a very unique role. The songs are lovely, and the director has worked really hard.”
Young music director Vishi shared, “This is my debut as a music director. There are six songs in total, including one in Latin. The re-recording has come out really well. I hope you all support our team.”
The film also features Balarajawadi, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Jagappa, and Swathi in key roles. Cinematography is by Rajkanth, and editing is by Srinivas and Shashidhar. The film is produced under AVV Productions, and the songs are released on MRT Music.
