The jersey of “Appu Cup Season 3”, a shuttle badminton league, was unveiled recently during the “Appu Sambhrama” celebration. The event was marked by the presence of several dignitaries, including Legislative Council Member Saravana, and members of the Kannada film industry, along with team owners and participants of the league.
Organized by Chetan Surya under the banner of Steller Studio & Event Management, in association with PRK Audio, the Appu Cup has successfully completed two previous seasons. Last month, the league inauguration and matches of Season 3 began, with the opening ceremony held on a grand scale. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and MLC Saravana were present to flag off the tournament.
Ahead of the league, an event titled “Appu Sambhrama” was conducted, during which the official jersey for Season 3 was unveiled. The unveiling was carried out by Saravana, and the event witnessed participation from film celebrities, actors involved in the league, and team owners.
Speaking at the jersey launch, Saravana appreciated the organization of the earlier two seasons and expressed confidence that the third season would also be conducted effectively under Chetan Surya’s leadership. He announced a contribution of ₹10 lakh from his company Sai Gold towards the current season. Additionally, he mentioned that gift vouchers from Sai Gold Palace would be provided to all participants.
The organizers confirmed that “Appu Cup Season 3” is being planned on a large scale with support from both Steller Studio and PRK Audio. The 10-kilogram silver Appu Trophy, which features a statue of Puneeth Rajkumar, will be awarded permanently to the team that manages to win the tournament for three consecutive seasons. The league matches are set to begin soon in Bengaluru, with the final match scheduled to take place in Goa.
