Bengaluru court formally reads out charges against Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others in the Renukaswamy murder case; all accused claim the charges are false.
The 64th CCH Court in Bengaluru on Monday framed charges in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case involving actor Darshan and 16 others. Judge I.P. Nayak read out the detailed charges against each accused, beginning with Pavithra Gowda, the first accused in the case.
The court outlined Pavithra Gowda’s alleged role, from the planning of Renukaswamy’s kidnapping to his assault and murder, reading out all related sections mentioned in the chargesheet. The judge then moved to A-2, actor Darshan, detailing the allegations that he assaulted Renukaswamy after questioning him about messages sent to Pavithra. The charges covered the entire sequence, kidnapping, assault, murder, and destruction of evidence.

After all 17 accused were addressed, the judge asked, “What do you have to say about the charges?” In response, the accused jointly shouted, “All false!” denying every allegation.
Following this, the court adjourned the hearing to November 10, when the trial date will be officially set. All 17 accused were present in court, six, including Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, were brought from Parappana Agrahara Jail, while the remaining 11 appeared on bail.
