In the wake of the devastating car bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 that claimed 12 lives, Al-Falah University in Faridabad has issued a statement denying any institutional ties to two of its detained doctors beyond their professional roles. The university expressed deep anguish over the incident, and has pledged full cooperation to investigating agencies probing the terror operation run by several Muslim doctors across the country.
The statement, released by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhupinder Kaur Anand, comes amid heightened scrutiny on the university following the arrests of Dr. Shaheen Shahid and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, both working at the Al-Falah University’s medical wing. The doctors were detained by Jammu & Kashmir Police, Uttar Pradesh ATS, and central agencies as part of a broader crackdown on a Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror module. Authorities recovered over 2,900 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, from properties linked to the doctors, along with firearms traced to a vehicle registered in Shahid’s name.
“We are anguished by the unfortunate developments that took place and condemn the same,” the statement reads, extending prayers to the victims and their families. It further clarifies, “We have also learnt that two of our doctors have been detained by the Investigating Agencies. We wish to make it clear that the University has no connection with the said persons apart from them being working in their official capacities with the University.”

The university vehemently rejected claims that chemicals or explosive materials were stored or handled on campus, calling them “false and defamatory allegations”. The statement stated, “It is hereby clarified that no such chemical or material, as is being alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored, or handled within the University premises. The University laboratories are used solely and exclusively for the academic and training requirements of MBBS students and other authorized courses. Every laboratory activity is carried out in strict adherence to established safety protocols, statutory norms, and ethical standards mandated by the regulatory authorities.”
Al-Falah university urged the media and the public to “verify facts through official channels before making or sharing any statements concerning the University.”
Prof. Anand said that the University is extending its full cooperation to the concerned investigating authorities to enable them to arrive at a logical, fair, and conclusive determination in the matter pertaining to national security.
In the meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and police teams are continuing searches on the Al-Falah campus. The probe continues to unravel the “white-collar terror ecosystem” involving educated professionals for JeM’s recruitment and logistics, including the launch of its women’s wing, Jamaat-ul-Mominaat, and the University has emerged as a hotspot of these terror activities.
However, Faridabad Police today refuted the claim that the Hyundai i20 car used in the terror attack was parked at Al-Falah University for the past 10 to 11 days.
Dr. Muzammil Shakeel has emerged as a central figure in the terror operation, who was arrested 10 days before the blast. 2,900 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and other bomb-making materials were found in two rooms rented by him near Faridabad, even though he lives in the university campus. Assault rifles and ammunition were recovered from a car belonging to Dr. Shaheen Shahid, Muzammil’s colleague at Al-Falah University. The female doctor was tasked with setting up the India branch of the Jaish-e-Mohammed women’s wing, Jamaat ul-Mominaat.
